Kevin Systrom & I started Instagram in mid-2010, and both designed & developed the application. I've spent the last few years scaling the Instagram engineering team into a 450+ person organization, now within FB.

Prototyped & tested several new products. Later transitioned to designing & developing the internal & external stats and visualization tools for our partners.

Organizing events, presentations, and other activities related to Symbolic Systems, a Stanford interdisciplinary program that unites Cognitive Science, Psychology, Computer Science, Philosophy, and Linguistics. Holding office hours for current majors and prospective students to receive advice about the major and related classes.

One-on-one sessions with students who have upcoming presentations in their classes, as well as class visits to explain broader points about Oral Communications. Also, through this position and my work at Microsoft, I've been invited to speak at Oral Communications-centered courses on the art and science of visual aids and effective use of slideware.

Designing and implementing features for next-gen search engine. Took features from paper prototypes to implementation in Python/JS/HTML.

Coordinated feature teams (Program Manager, Test, and Development) to implement and polish features in PowerPoint and OfficeArt. Work focused on accessibility, photo import with the Photo Album, and successful management of features as product moved towards ship date. Several features already shipped as part of the Beta 2 Technical Refresh.
